Lucknow – In a major breakthrough, the Krishna Nagar police and surveillance team in Lucknow have successfully solved a chain-snatching case involving a woman and arrested a notorious criminal. The joint operation led to the recovery of the stolen gold chain, locket, a mobile phone, and a Bullet motorcycle used in the crime.
The arrested accused has been identified as Shubham Rajput (27), son of Ramanand Singh, a resident of Alinagar Sunhara under the Krishna Nagar police station limits. Shubham was reportedly employed at a local jewellery shop.
The Incident
On May 22 (Thursday), around 1 PM, Krishna Devi, a resident of Trimurti Nagar, was walking along JB Sky Hilton Road when an unidentified man on a motorcycle snatched the gold chain and locket from her neck and fled the scene. The incident sparked concern in the area and prompted swift action by local police.
An FIR was registered at Krishna Nagar police station under FIR No. 251/25, Sections 304(2)/317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
Swift Police Action
Following the incident, the Krishna Nagar police teamed up with the surveillance unit to track down the culprit using CCTV footage and mobile surveillance. Their investigation led to the arrest of Shubham Rajput, who confessed to the crime during interrogation.
